Thanks to all for the GUNSLINGERS BALL

Hello everyone!

Thanks so much for an amazing night on Saturday! Overall the event was a smashing success, but for those of you who came down and didn't make it inside please read on too.

The vibe before, during and after this event has been exciting. Your enthusiasm, awesome. We don't think we have ever heard as many cheers for the performers coming up from the dance floor at one of our events yet, or had so many people there so early! Thank-you very much for making it such an amazing experience for everyone involved. To the people in cowboy outfits & perfectly fitted catsuits, to those who came as far as the States and Edmonton to be there, and to all of you jiving and jigging on the dancefloor, thank-you for your exceptional energy.

Big thanks also go out to all of the folks who helped us promote; to all of the volunteers who helped set-up/tear-down and to the people who worked hard all night; and of course, to the performers, audio, visual and installation who made the night so electric - thank-you!!! At one point we were unsure if Alex was even going to make it to Toronto. His flight was delayed, and then cancelled at the last minute, due to the thunderstorms here (big thanks go out to Terrence Kissner for contacting Mike Shannon and arranging for him to jump in for Alex should he not have made it!). We ended up finding a late night flight into Buffalo and a friend there (yay Dr. Jo!) generous enough to drive Alex to town for us. Thankfully, they slid into the venue right on time and the rest was history ;)

To all those who made the trek out to the gallery, excited to get inside, and were turned away at the door, we sincerely apologize. We like to try to mix up the places that we throw our events, to keep things fresh and interesting. Some spaces we choose are larger than others. Based on our previous shows' attendance we were confident we had picked the most appropriate venue given the limited options for cool, non-club spaces in this city. But, unfortunately, the demand for this event was much larger than we had predicted and for obvious comfort and safety reasons, we just couldn't let more people inside than capacity allowed.

Given your response to this night, and your enthusiastic post-party messages to us to keep on having these kinds of events, we will try to either find larger venues that match our artistic vision of the night (venue suggestions always welcome!) or warn you closer to the night-of if we think there may be issues with getting inside. That being said we can never predict all aspects of how an event will turn out, and our biggest suggestion to you is always to come down early (especially if we've said the venue is intimate!) if you never want to worry about getting in.

Also, to tide everyone over to the next one :), and for those of you who weren't inside, we will be posting video of the event on breakandenter.net soon, as well as some of the sets from the night that were recorded. Here are a few little tidbits that one of the attendees has already put up on you tube (thanks Oreste!):
